I remember my first week working at a new job as the lifestyle editor – one of the front page editors asked me if I knew where she could get vegan shoes and bags. Specifically good-looking, durable products that were glamorous but not in the Stella McCartney price range.
At the time I could only give her a few names. Now I’d tell her to check out Nella Bella. The Toronto label has been making stylish and vegan-friendly bags for four years. They launched their latest collection – the Fall/Winter 2011 line and the new NB Man line.
The men’s line appeals to women as well. The black clutch/bag (above) was picked up more than once by a woman who tested its function by slipping it under her arm.
The line is well-known for its London bag – two bags in one – that can be turned into multiple bags. The latest collection offered something for everyone. There were clutches, hobos, satchels and even big, deep ‘eat your soul’ bags that could hold everything including the cat.
As always, the bags are eye-catching. I own a mustard bag – the Sienna – and every time I carry it, I get asked about it.
